For the second year, the Temple Health and Bioscience District held a conference at which people who have created a businesses in the medical field provided advice to those looking to start one.
“You don’t know what you don’t know until you are exposed to these types of speakers” said Tami Annable, the district’s executive director.
Medical professional learn firsthand how to jumpstart their ideas and turn them into a business.
“There’s a fantastic clinical capacity here. There is some research going and the THBD is trying to bring all of those people together to create new companies, new jobs around this amazing clinical capacity” said the district’s Michael Norman.
This year, the group held a competition where three people would receive grants to help them jump start their business.
The conference is free and organizers say they are looking forward to see more people next year.
